Employment Opportunity: Fort St. John Operations Manager

Overview

Park Derochie is one of Canada's premier Contractors offering Coating, Fireproofing, Insulation and Scaffolding services in both the industrial and commercial markets. Formed in Alberta, Canada in 1956 Park Derochie currently has offices in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.

Due to company growth and expansion we are currently seeking an individual with significant experience, in one or more of Park Derochie's areas of expertise, for the position of Operations Manager in the Fort St. John Region of British Columbia.

The Fort St. John Operations Manager will provide support and direction to and cooperation with division mangers, construction managers, directors and employees of Park Derochie, particularly in the areas of marketing, bidding, contract execution and whatever is necessary to enhance the profitability and growth of the Corporation and/or PD Group of Companies. Other duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Establish and develop a local presence from an operational standpoint in the Fort St. John area to provide the services offered by Park Derochie (blasting & coatings, fireproofing, insulation and scaffolding);
• Pursue and develop a maintenance presence to service the Fort St. John area;
• Management of day-to-day operations in the Fort St. John area (larger projects will be handled by specific division managers or project team)
• Strategic planning and scheduling;
• Cost effective purchasing of materials, repairs and maintenance;
• Develop a local workforce;
• Hiring and dismissal of employees;
• Prudent labor, staff, equipment and vehicle utilization;
• Supervising and / or taking part in all tendering activity;

The successful candidate will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills with significant past industrial experience in management, estimating, tendering and project management (field experience is considered a definite asset). Knowledge and practical experience with drawings and bids, strong written and oral communication as well as computer skills are essential.
